报告摘要：

The ocean has long been a vital source of food in Iceland. In recent years, interest in Blue Biotechnology has grown significantly. This field has enabled more efficient utilization of fish and fish byproducts, as well as innovative applications of algae—both microalgae and macroalgae. Algae are now being harvested or cultivated on a large scale for use in food, dietary supplements, food coloring, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

主讲人简介：

Sigurður Brynjólfsson，任职于冰岛大学工学院，本科毕业于冰岛大学机械工程专业，后赴美国俄勒冈州立大学深造获机械工程硕士和博士学位。曾担任冰岛大学机械工程系系主任、工学院院长、系统生物学中心主任等职务，并担任北欧大学联盟理事等，致力于机械工程、生物力学和生物工程等领域的跨学科研究开发。目前主要聚焦海洋生物技术方向，开发生物反应器系统用于微藻/微生物培养以制备高附加值化学品，同时探索鱼皮、海藻等生物材料在医疗领域的创新应用。这些研究通常需要整合不同学科资源，合作网络涵盖多个院系的科研团队以及多家前沿科技企业。
