Development goals

It is committed to the research of Frontier Science and technology in the information field related to the ocean, and provides integrated solutions of data monitoring, communication transmission, data analysis and system control for the construction of smart ocean. Facing the key problems of underwater information sensing, sea surface remote sensing, detection, transmission, networking, processing and mining encountered in the process of intelligent ocean construction in our country, we focus on the scientific research and business application of ocean three-dimensional observation technology, communication network, detection technology, signal processing, artificial intelligence mining, system control, etc., and promote the ocean observation, sea surface remote sensing and mining by combining production, teaching and research The development of ocean communication and network, ocean data mining, underwater intelligent control and other fields will accelerate the process of ocean informatization and contribute to the strategy of ocean power. 


Key research directions

1. Ocean sensing and information acquisition

It is a kind of sensing technology to obtain the information of sea surface, water body and seafloor by means of sound, light, electricity and magnetism, including all kinds of marine in-situ sensors, laboratory measuring and testing instruments, marine remote sensing, sea surface radar, underwater acoustic active and passive detection and imaging, marine optical detection and imaging, marine seismic monitoring, marine typhoon monitoring, etc. 

2. Marine information transmission and network

The sea surface and underwater information transmission and networking technologies using sound, light, electricity and magnetism as media include underwater acoustic communication and network, underwater optical communication, seabed observation network, marine Internet of things and sensor network, marine satellite communication and network, sea surface UAV Communication and networking, sea surface atmospheric waveguide communication, space, space and sea integrated network, water surface and underwater cross media communication and networking And so on. 

3. Marine information system

Information management, mining, application and feedback control technology for marine physics, chemistry, biology, geology, underwater scene and marine equipment such as submersible, including computer vision processing of seabed image and video, edge computing of submersible, positioning and navigation of submersible, data and model hybrid driven control and autonomous formation of submersible and unmanned submarine, data-driven ocean going Channel management and route optimization, ocean big data management and assimilation, ocean big data mining and visualization, etc. 

4. Marine information science

The basic principles of the internal relationship and interaction between information science and marine science, the data atlas and its evolution of the four position integration of sea, air, space and sky, and the basic core devices related to marine acoustic, optical, electrical, magnetic and other technologies, including underwater acoustics, underwater optics, marine electromagnetic wave propagation mechanism, marine information theory, information entropy and thermodynamic entropy in the field of marine communication observation and control Communication, basic acoustic devices, basic optical devices, basic navigation devices, etc.
