Physical Oceanography & Remote Sensing
Development objectives
The construction of the institute aims to serve national and local developments in Marine Science and technology and the economy. Guided by national needs and physical oceanography frontiers, the Institute conducts teaching and Research in the field of physical oceanography and related fields, and jointly builds a doctoral program in the first-class discipline of marine technology and engineering.
Research Areas
1. Ocean dynamics, thermal processes and climate change, ocean satellite remote sensing technology and its application, ocean modeling, ocean hazards.
2. Air-sea boundary layer, Submarine Boundary Layer, Ocean mixing and other ocean processes and their observational techniques.
3. Marine Environment Observation and forecast such as marine ranches and marine disasters.
