The precisehydraulic flume can be used to conduct 2D and 3D flow experiments, instantaneous flow field with high speed acquisition frequency, and to study the movement mechanism of turbulent and laminar flow in micro scales. It is equipped with three dimensional laser DVL, high speed camera, PIV flow velocity measurement system.Research projects includewave deformation, coastal protection of soft soil, and turbulent problems.

The flumeis 25m long, 0.6m wide, 0.5m high with avariable slope up to 0.5% (accuracy less than 0.1mm). The maximum water depth is 0.4mand the maximum flow rate is 180L/s, withan accuracyof less than 0.02m/s.
