The anechoic tank is used to simulate open sea environment to carry out researchesontransducercalibration,underwater acoustic signal acquisition and processing,target characteristics and detection, acoustic communications, underwater imaging, and transducer array.

The anechoic tank is 50m in length, 15m in width, and 10m in depth, with movable vertical separating wall and two experimental platforms.. The sound absorption materials cover six faces of the tank and two sides of the movable wall, which absorb incoming sound wave and reduce reflected sound wave.  The anechoic band covers 1KHz to 100KHz.
