This major is well-rounded and multidisciplinary. It is designed to help a student enter the engineering profession as an experienced problem solver. It includes a broad range of topics from marine engineering equipment to marine information technology , from underwater acoustics to underwater optics, and from intelligent ocean technology to sensors and observation technology. Students are expected to learn the fundamental concepts and knowledge that form the basis for the profession, so the curriculum is a blend of mathematics, physics, mechanics, marine, mechanology, electronics, control, communication, computer and other multidisciplinary basic knowledge. In addition, students are offered the ideal world-class experimental facilities for conducting applied research and technology.
