The Ninth Hutton Symposium on the Origin of Granites and Related Rocks is to be held in Nanjing of China for the first time. Ahead of the symposium, a geology tour was held at the island city of  Zhoushan.  More than 30 geology scientists from China, Japan, South Africa gathered in Zhoushan and went on a field trip to Da Qing Shan and Putuo Shan to see the bimodal magmatism of Mesozoic granites and basic rocks.

The inspection tour as co-hosted by the Ocean college and School of Earth Science of Zhejiang University.
