From October 29th to 30th, Amber Lou, the representative of the International Cooperation Office of the University of Southampton in the UK, visited the Ocean College of Zhejiang University. She held two lectures for undergraduates and postgraduates of the Ocean College on the Zijingang Campus and Zhoushan Campus respectively, regarding the 2+2 undergraduate dual-degree program, master's programs, and scholarship applications.

Hu Peng, assistant dean of the Ocean College, had a discussion with Amber Lou. He introduced the undergraduate program of the Ocean College and reviewed the cooperation history between the Ocean College and the University of Southampton. The two sides refined their functional divisions regarding the 2+2 undergraduate dual-degree joint training program for undergraduates of the University of Southampton. They reached a consensus on conducting multi-channel enrollment promotion and joint enrollment. In addition, they exchanged views on the short-term exchange programs for undergraduates and joint doctoral training cooperation, and discussed the possibility of cooperation in short-term visiting study programs for postgraduates.

The Ocean College has established a good foundation for communication and cooperation with the University of Southampton. Since the signing of the joint training program for the undergraduate dual degree in marine science in 2022, one undergraduate majoring in marine science from the Ocean College has applied for the 2+2 undergraduate dual-degree program and been successfully admitted. In April 2024, the Ocean College also organized 10 undergraduates to conduct a short-term visiting study to the University of Southampton.
