From January 16th to 22nd, 2025, a delegation of 15 undergraduate students and 6 graduate students from the Ocean College, led by Associate Professor Di Yanan, visited the University of Southampton and the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in the United Kingdom for an academic exchange program.

At the Waterfront Campus of the University of Southampton and the National Oceanography Centre, the students from the Ocean College learned about the educational model and research progress of the University of Southampton through various activities such as lectures, laboratory tours, marine operations, and student exchanges. Under the guidance of Professor Andrew, they visited various laboratories. They also boarded the research vessel Callista, visited the on-board laboratories, learned the basic knowledge of marine scientific research, and simulated marine operations.

At the main campus of the University of Southampton, faculty and students from the Ocean College engaged in discussions with the international affairs staff and representatives from the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA). They gained insights into international exchange programs and toured the main campus to learn about the academic and daily life of Chinese students studying in the UK.

This exchange study tour received strong support from the Overseas Exchange Program for Students of Zhejiang University and the University of Southampton.
