Ocean College Delegation Visits KU Leuven for Academic Exchange

From April 2nd to 10th, 2025,a delegation of 13 undergraduate and 2 graduate students from Zhejiang University’s Ocean College, led by Associate Professor Li Li, visited KU Leuven in Belgium for an academic exchange program. Organized by Professor Pieter and other experts from KU Leuven, the delegation engaged in a series of academic activities across multiple themes. The visit included tours of laboratories and marine engineering facilities, as well as hands-on practical sessions.

During the exchange, students from both universities participated in project discussions and presentations on relevant research topics. Associate Professor Li Li and two graduate students delivered keynote speeches, introducing Zhejiang University Ocean College’s scientific achievements and future development directions in coastal protection, marine engineering, and other fields. They also highlighted the college’s educational strengths, disciplinary features, and international graduate programs, encouraging KU Leuven students to pursue further studies and exchanges at Zhejiang University.

On April 7, the delegation was warmly received by Mr. Carl Decaluwé, Governor of West Flanders, Belgium. On behalf of the province, he welcomed the faculty and students from Zhejiang University, expressed gratitude for the long-standing friendly relations with Zhejiang Province, and emphasized the commitment to further strengthening future academic and technological collaborations.

KU Leuven and Zhejiang University have established a strong institutional partnership, maintaining close academic and research cooperation over the years.
