On November 13, the 24th session of the Ocean Youth Talk postgraduate entrance exam experience-sharing salon was held at the Zhoushan Campus of ZJU Ocean College. Fengmin Xing (Resource and Environment, Class of 2024), Yutong Cheng and Yuhui Zhu (Electronic Information, Class of 2025) were invited to share their experiences in preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination. The event aimed to guide undergraduate students from the Classes of 2022 and 2023 to study diligently and prepare effectively, fostering a positive and motivated learning atmosphere.

During the session, Yutong Cheng began with an overview of the postgraduate entrance examination process and systematically introduced pre-exam preparation strategies, with a focus on written test techniques. He emphasized that mathematics is the “key subject for widening the score gap” and recommended using online courses to consolidate the overall knowledge framework. He also shared practical exam tips, such as bringing a mechanical watch and keeping warm during the test.

Fengmin Xing provided a detailed explanation of review timelines and study methods for different subjects, breaking down the core tasks at each stage of preparation. She reminded students, “Do not blindly follow others’ study pace. Only by maintaining a rhythm that suits you can you steadily improve.”

Yuhui Zhu introduced a highly targeted “problem-oriented” revision approach, encouraging students to begin full mock tests early once they have mastered the fundamentals, in order to achieve focused breakthroughs. He stressed that clarifying one’s motivation and setting clear goals are essential to overcoming anxiety and pressure during exam preparation.

During the Q&A session, the three speakers also addressed questions about cross-university applications, information channels, adjustment policies, and the Hainan Program, sharing their personal experiences and practical advice. Participants expressed that they were greatly inspired and benefited from the session.
