Retired Party Members of the ZJU Ocean College Visit Shajiabang for Themed Party Day Activity

Inside the memorial hall, the veterans paused before each precious photograph and historical artifact, attentively listening to the docent recount the heroic deeds of New Fourth Army soldiers maneuvering through reed marshes against Japanese forces and the united resistance of soldiers and civilians against Japanese aggression. They frequently exchanged reflections, reminiscing about the arduous past and deeply appreciating the hard-won nature of revolutionary victory and the formidable strength of military-civilian unity under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. At the Shajiabang National Defense Education Park, the veteran Party members toured exhibition areas including the weapons and equipment display zone and the national defense knowledge corridor. They examined various national defense equipment up close and gained detailed insights into the development journey and remarkable achievements of China's national defense construction. At the Chunlai Teahouse and the Reed Marsh Anti-Japanese Base, the veteran Party members experienced firsthand the revolutionary scenes where underground Party organizations used teahouses as bases to transmit intelligence and rally forces. They expressed that the red stories of Shajiabang showcase the wisdom and responsibility of Communists. Though retired, they vowed that the revolutionary spirit must not fade, pledging to pass this commitment and responsibility on to the younger generation of maritime workers.
During the visit, Party Branch Secretary Ying YE led the group in studying the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Zhejiang Provincial CPC Committee Standing Committee's special meeting at Zhejiang University. The veteran Party members unanimously pledged to remain steadfast in their identity as Communists, uphold their political integrity, and continue contributing their wisdom and experience. They committed to actively offering suggestions for the college's marine discipline development and talent cultivation, thereby channeling positive energy toward serving the strategy of building a maritime power.
