四、报告题目:Machine-learning supported Computational Mechanics for Wave-structure Interaction
报告摘要:
Wave-structure interaction is the fundamental for offshore and marine engineering. It is a multi-scale multi-physics process ranging from large-scale wave evolution towards small- and micro-scale wave breaking, turbulence and aeration, which challenging the Computational mechanics practices despite of enormous available numerical models and computational tools. When the world entering the ear of Artificial intelligence and Machine learning, it is no-doubt that the emerging technology can support the modelling of WSI. The presentation will summarize the past of our effort on developing the applying the numerical tools for WSI, focus on our present framework of ML-supported numerical models, and discuss vision for the near future.
主讲人简介:
Dr Shiqiang Yan is currently the chair of Computational Mechanics at City, University of London, head of the Research Group for Intelligent Offshore Renewables Energy Systems (INORES). His main research area include the hydrodynamics associated with offshore wind turbines and wave energy converters and development of numerical models for wave-structure interaction. He has developed the fully nonlinear potential theory (FNPT) method QALE-FEM, recently lead the development of the multi-scale multi-model hybrid solver qaleFOAM for the wave-structure interaction. He is principle-investigator (PI) of three EPSRC projects that involve significant development of the qaleFOAM. He is also Co-I of a number of EPSRC projects including three on-going project associated with advanced numerical method and/or software development. He has published over 130 peer-reviewed papers and received the Baker Medal in 2021 and 2022 from the Institution of Civil Engineers for the papers on the qaleFOAM, and CH Kim award from the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE) in 2022. He is the vice-chair of the international hydrodynamic committee of ISOPE and the secretary of the SUTGEF in the society of Under Water Technology.
